Sea Based Transit Point For Illegal Immigrants

The recent spate of incidents at sea involving small boats ferrying illegal immigrants out of Malaysian shores has resulted in an intense need for the government to probe the issue. Malaysia has been placed on Tier 2 Watch List of the U.S. Department of State Human Trafficking list, for its failure to provide evidence of increasing efforts from the previous years to tackle its large and multidimensional
trafficking problem, including the issue of forced labour.
