Abstract
From a Malaysian perspective the country’s coastal area/zone is defined as comprising of the following components an onshore component which has an inner landward limit 5 kilometer (km) from the coastline (shoreline) and An offshore component, the seaward limit is the Exclusive Economic Zone (EEZ) 200 nautical miles from the shoreline.
